On the island of Fuerteventura, the most western of the Canary Islands, Grupo Ganaderos de Fuerteventura began its activity in the early 1980’s.
Since then, its objective has been to continue with the ancestral tradition of producing Majorero Cheese whilst adapting it to the new production technologies and providing it with rigorous quality controls. The result is a prestigious product that inherits the aromas of the past, the flavor of that tradition that has its origins in the history of the island, and which meets maximum guarantees for today’s consumers.
Besides Majorero Cheese, the company currently commercializes other varieties of cheese typical of the neighboring islands of La Palma, Gran Canaria and La Gomera.
The company’s firm commitment to protecting health means that the entire production process is subject to strict quality control. It was the first Canary Island company in its sector to obtain a health mark from the Canary Island Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs; in 2002, it was certified with quality standard ISO-9001:2000, which guarantees the entire production and commercialisation process; and it has been ISO 22000-certified for food safety since 2011.
